These
beautiful north Georgia mountains abound with activities to suit everyone.
So, jump in the car, and head for the mountains! There are hiking trails
galore ... see some beautiful
images of Habersham County, www.georgiatrails.com,

for some good information. Thousands of acres of National Forest
provide other wilderness adventures.
If you like shopping, we're right down the road from Cottage Garden Furniture, a wonderful collection of handpainted furniture and beautiful accessories for your home and garden, and Burton Gallery, with fine art to folk art, intermingled with high quality handcrafted items: paintings, prints, folk art, wood carvings, Amish-made furniture, bronze sculptures, antique fishing gear, folk and utilitarian pottery, hand painted furniture, kaleidoscopes, handmade knives, turned wooden bowls, wind chimes, bird feeders, fish and duck decoys, handmade jewelry ... the work of over 350 artists, most of whom are from this area. Many other galleries and shops are along Scenic Highway 197 ... a beautiful drive through the mountains. We've got fine restaurants close by, too ... Pazzo's Pizzaria and Italian Market for delicious pizza and other Italian favorites, and Joni's Fireside Inn for great seafood and burgers. Just a few miles away, is Alpine Helen, a unique shopping village with outlet stores and restaurants, too. Our area is home to some spectacular waterfalls. Becky Branch Falls, Dick's Creek Falls, Martin Creek Falls, Mud Creek Falls, Minnehaha Falls (one of the most beautiful, must-see waterfalls in the north Georgia area, located just south of Lake Burton in Rabun county. This waterfall, a combination of falling and shoaling cascades, is approximately 100 feet high. The trail is a must-see as well, gently sloping through rhododendron and mountain laurel). Angel/Panther Falls, and High Shoals Falls (there are two tremendous waterfalls on the High Shoals Creek. These falls very dramatic, and a highly recommended hike. The falls are on a 170 acre scenic site and are reached by taking a 1.2 mile trail).
